The University of Reston formally recognizes all outstanding student academic achievement through the Dean’s List and/or Commencement Honors.
The University of Reston Dean’s List
Any student who completes a given semester with a 3.5 Grade Point Average (GPA) or higher on a 4.0 scale will have their name placed on the Dean’s List for that semester. Each semester’s Dean List will then be compiled by academic year and permanently posted on the University of Reston website under the Admissions tab.
Commencement Honors at the University of Reston
Any University of Reston student who completes their academic degree program within one of the ranges of Cumulative Grade Point Averages (CGPA) listed below will further be publicly honored during the specific University Commencement Ceremony they respectively participate in. Their noteworthy achievement will also be permanently listed on their official academic transcript.
- A CGPA between 3.85 – 4.00 will earn the Summa Cum Laude Academic Honor
- A CGPA between 3.70 – 3.84 will earn the Magna Cum Laude Academic Honor
- A CGPA between 3.50 – 3.69 will earn the Cum Laude Academic Honor
